We all love Apple’s brand new smartphone, the iPhone 5. What we don’t love, however, is the battery life. Although the iPhone 5 is supposed to have the best battery life yet, it still doesn’t last as long as most other smartphones on the market. Did you know there are simple and effective ways to extend the life of your iPhone 5’s battery? Don’t forget, Switch Wireless is the king of iPhone repair so if these tricks don’t work, make sure you drop by. Here are some tips courtesy of the International Business Times:
Are you a shutterbug like me? Unlocking your iPhone 5 can be a drag when wanting to take a quick picture. Solve this problem by accessing the camera from your lock screen. This is done by sliding up the camera button. You can also change the Panorama direction by hitting the directional arrow.
Track the life of your battery by turning on the Battery Percentage function in your iPhone 5’s Settings. It’s simple. Go to Settings > General > Usage > Battery Percentage. Use this tracker to see which apps take up the most energy.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Shut off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when they are not needed. Bluetooth is a huge drain on your iPhone 5’s battery. You should also shut off GPS, 3G and 4G LTE if you can.
Did you know that lowering your iPhone’s screen brightness can improve the life of your battery? Now you do! Go to Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper > and adjust the settings based on your preferences.
Depending on the number of applications you have running, you are probably sick and tired of receiving hundreds of notifications, especially if you’re a social butterfly and are constantly running Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, you get the idea. Go into the Notification Center to custom design your notification settings.
We love to use the Internet on our iPhone 5’s. If you don’t feel like scrolling up to the top of a Web page once you have finished reading an article, tap the status bar and it will bring you back to the top area. It’s as simple as that!
